GCYFRG Committee Vacancies – AGM 2017

After years of dedicated service to the GCYFRG committee (across a number of different roles), Rebecca Collins and Matej Blazek are both stepping down this summer after their current terms as Secretary and Treasurer (respectively) end.  A huge thank you from all at GCYFRG for your contributions over the years!

Ahead of our AGM at the RGS-IBG Annual Conference (Wednesday 30 August, 13.20-14.20), we now have an open invitation for the election of these two named committee roles.  These positions are both three-year appointments in the first instance, with the possibility of standing for a further three years at the end of that term.  Short job descriptions are below to advise potential candidates, but both Rebecca (rebecca.collins@chester.ac.uk) and Matej (matej.blazek@newcastle.ac.uk) are happy to chat informally to those interested, as am I.  Please note, for both Secretary and Treasurer, nominees must be Fellows of the RGS-IBG.

Nominations for election must be made in writing (e-mail), to the current Secretary (rebecca.collins@chester.ac.uk) with details of two nominators, whose nominations we will verify in advance, should you or they not be able to attend the AGM. Nominators need not be Fellows of the RGS-IBG or be existing members of the GCYFRG committee.  Nominations must be made by Friday 18th August 2017.  Any questions, please do get in touch.

We are also advertising for two new postgraduate liaison officers for 2017/8, with thanks to outgoing members Naomi Maynard and Kalia Kaparounaki, and welcome invitations via the same route.  These are one year posts.  All nominations must be made by the same deadline – Friday 18th August 2017.  These post-holders need not be RGS Fellows (or Postgraduate Fellows).  Again, any questions, please do get in touch.
